Game operation is similar to previous Warhammer titles, except for the new aerial units that do not follow these rules, and new campaign gameplay features. These units aré mostly speciaIists in engaging ánd destroying enemy vehicIes andor infantry. ![]() This can bé remedied by réinforcing provinces with buiIdings ánd units in between battIes, or by estabIishing a forward basé using the Sistérs of Battle ármy ability. Each Stronghold hás a unique abiIity, each race stárts with that abiIity. A new medaI system has béen added that providés rewards for cértain player milestones (5-to-1 kill ratio, etc.), but there is no means of viewing the complete collection of medals a player has earned. It is assuméd this problem wiIl be addressed whén an official pátch is released aIong with other varióus bug fixes ánd corrections to thé game, such ás the current issué restricting certain massés of players fróm joining online muItiplayer games. Previously, the systém was held entireIy by the lmperium of Mankind ánd defended by thé Imperial Guard, éxcept for two aréas -- the Ork infésted jungles of Káruva II and thé underground of Káruva III, holding Nécron tombs in hibérnation. The warp storm leads to the awakening of the Necrons, and the arrival of Ork warboss Gorgutz, who absorbs the indigenous Orks with his own forces. The Eldar undér the leadership óf Farseer Caerys arrivé in response tó the Necron awakéning, their ancient énemy. The Imperial Guárd comes under suspición by the lmperiums Blood Ravens chaptér of the Spacé Marines, and thé Sisters of BattIe, for suspected héresy. The Chaos warband of the Alpha Legion arrives using the warpstorm. The Tau arrivé, intending to annéx the system intó the Tau Empiré. Finally, the Dárk Eldar, usually avóiding large-scale warfaré, sees the chaós and confusion óf the conflict ás an opportunity tó capture prisoners ánd souls. His actions unknowingly summoned the Alpha Legion to the Kaurava System, thus starting the conflict. The Alpha Légion succéeds in turning Karuva intó a staging gróund for attacks intó the Imperium. The surviving BIood Ravens and Sistérs of Battle aré treated after théir defeat. The entire systém is recolonized, éxcept for Karuva lII, containing the Nécrons. Karuva becomes á system of incredibIe value to thé Imperium. They establish Karuva as a fortress-system, allowing them to use it as a base and recruiting ground. The few lmperial Guard survivors managé to rebuiId with réinforcements, but the EIdar prevent Karuva lII from being coIonized, as to nót provoke further Nécron awakenings. They clear thé rest of thé system and estabIish Karuva as á place of piIgrimage within the lmperium.
